Ordinary Ledger: €1.974 for E10 and €2.212 for diesel, before the day gets busy
Friday's early national averages are a few cents below this week's midweek prints. A tankful is still a three-figure bill.
The ledger. - Super E10, national average of open stations reporting to the federal price register this morning: €1.974 a litre1. - Diesel: €2.212 a litre1. - Super E5: €2.029 a litre1. - Midweek comparison: on Wednesday the ADAC put the national E10 average at €2.041 and diesel at €2.260, both lower than a week earlier2. - Desk arithmetic: a 50-litre tank of E10 at this morning’s average costs about €98.70; the same tank of diesel about €110.60. Against Wednesday’s ADAC averages that is roughly €3.35 less for E10 and €2.40 less for diesel, if the early print holds.
Early-morning averages are snapshots. Prices move by station, brand and hour, and they often firm after midday1. Brent’s slide earlier this week is the wholesale backdrop; the pump is where it either arrives or does not2. Nothing here is advice about when to fill up — only a record of what the register showed before breakfast.
What to watch
An average is a map. Your station is a place.
